Liam Pipes & Tubes provides accurate Duplex Steel Instrumentation Tubing in Houston, USA, to be employed in high-pressure, corrosion-susceptible instrumentation and control systems. Produced from UNS S31803 and S32205 duplex grades, our tubing is well suited for offshore, petrochemical, and power plant instrumentation. Duplex tubing resists corrosion very well, particularly in chloride-contaminated environments, and has greater strength than 316/316L stainless steel. Our duplex instrumentation tubing meets ASTM A789 and NORSOK standards and provides leak-tight, vibration-free performance for control panels, analyzers, and process instrumentation. Tubing is supplied in straight lengths or in coils with close dimensional tolerances.
Duplex Steel Instrumentation Tubing consists of ~22% Cr, ~5% Ni, ~3% Mo, and nitrogen for better pitting resistance. Having a well-balanced ferritic-austenitic structure, it yields tensile strengths of up to 800 MPa, yield strengths of about 450 MPa, and elongation of ~25–30%. Its two-phase structure provides high resistance to stress corrosion cracking, especially in chloride-bearing systems. The tubing is cold-drawn, washed, and passivated for cleanroom or analytical applications. Duplex tubing retains strength and resistance to corrosion under severe pressures, providing leak-free service in control, hydraulic, and pneumatic lines.
