Duplex Steel Tubing S32205 is made up of approximately 22% chromium, 5–6.5% nickel, 3–3.5% molybdenum, and nitrogen, all combined in a balanced ferritic-austenitic microstructure. This unique composition gives it high mechanical strength and excellent resistance to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking and localized corrosion. The tubing boasts a minimum yield strength of 450 MPa, a tensile strength of 620 MPa, and an elongation of around 25%. It also offers good impact toughness and weldability, making it suitable for both regular and sub-zero temperature applications. To ensure precise dimensions and a superior surface finish, S32205 tubing is cold-worked.
