It is good for up to 800°C, with retention of mechanical properties when subjected to thermal cycling. It has a high carbon content for creep strength, suitable for use in boiler and superheater applications. It is similar to 304 in corrosion resistance, suitable for mildly corrosive and oxidizing conditions.
