SS 316/316L pipes have 16–18% Cr, 10–14% Ni, 2–3% Mo, and ≤0.08% C (316) or ≤0.03% C (316L). The EFW pipes have tensile strength ~515 MPa, yield strength ~205 MPa, and ~35% elongation. They have remarkable resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and acid environments. 316L enhances weldability and minimizes intergranular corrosion. EFW welding provides strong longitudinal seams, appropriate for large-diameter and heavy-wall pipes in pressure systems.
