Tensile strength is usually 550–950 MPa, yield strength is 200–450 MPa, and elongation is usually between 30–45%. These pipes are mechanically sound even at elevated temperatures and in corrosive environments. Cold- or hot-finished types exist, usually annealed for enhanced ductility. Seamless construction provides pressure uniformity and absence of weak spots, and they find application where reliability and resistance to leaks are paramount.
