347 Stainless Steel After welding, pipes are stabilised with columbium (niobium) and alloyed with nickel (9–13%) and chromium (17–20%) to prevent intergranular corrosion. Elements like silicon, manganese, and carbon are also included in the composition. This grade has outstanding creep and stress rupture qualities, as well as tensile strength of roughly 515–750 MPa and yield strength of about 205 MPa. It works effectively in temperatures as high as 870°C (1600°F). Because of its strong mechanical stability, oxidation resistance, and weldability, SS 347 can be used in corrosive and high-temperature service settings.
