Stainless Steel 904L Heat Exchanger Tubing is an austenitic stainless steel alloy containing 25% chromium, 20% nickel, and 4.5% molybdenum with low carbon content. This special composition provides enhanced resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and aggressive acids such as sulfuric acid. It provides great mechanical performance with a tensile strength of 520 MPa and a yield strength of 220 MPa. The low carbon content of the alloy improves weldability and minimizes carbide precipitation, making it an extremely tough and resistant option for high-temperature and high-pressure heat exchanger applications.
