Stainless Steel 347 and 347H Instrumentation Tubing consists of around 18% chromium and 10% nickel, stabilized with columbium (niobium) to provide resistance from intergranular corrosion. Type 347H has greater carbon content for better high-temperature strength. These grades provide superior mechanical strength, such as a tensile of 75,000 psi (517 MPa) and yield of 30,000 psi (207 MPa). The tubing provides better weldability, resistance to oxidation, and stability in the long term under heat stress. These properties make it suitable for instrumentation in corrosive and high-temperature conditions in critical industries.
