Copper Nickel ERW Pipes are made of 90% copper and 10% nickel, with slight amounts of iron and manganese. This gives them very good corrosion resistance to seawater and other marine environments, which is partly responsible for their durability. Mechanically, they have good tensile strength in the range of 240 – 400 MPa, with decent yield strength of about 180 – 275 MPa, and very good flexibility. They also have very good thermal conductivity and very good resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and good resistance to bio-fouling. All of these properties mean that they are useful in marine, desalination and chemical industries.
