Monel K500 (pipes) is alloyed with nickel (63 percent minimum) and copper (28 percent minimum), with additions of iron (up to 3 percent), manganese and titanium. They also have very good mechanical properties such as tensile strength of 130,000 psi (896 MPa) and yield strengths of 70,000 psi (483 MPa) with reasonable ductility. Monel K500 pipes have many advantages that are; superior corrosion resistance especially in seawater and acidic solutions, high strength and durability and is stress corrosion-resistant, and the pipes are easy to fabricate, and it is therefore useful in marine and chemical activities.
