Liam Pipes and Tubes, Houston, USA, is a world–class producer and distributor of Stainless Steel 316 and 316L Welded Tubing, which is well-known to supply corrosion-proof solutions to the domestic as well as overseas markets. Designed for long life and performance, the welded tubes are suitable for chemical processing, marine, and pharmaceutical industries. Through a focus on exacting manufacturing and customer satisfaction, Liam Pipes and Tubes guarantees each product to exceed rigorous industry requirements. For corrosive atmospheres or high-pressure systems, our tubing provides consistent performance in the most challenging industrial conditions.
Stainless Steel 316 and 316L Welded Tubing contains 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum, further protecting it against corrosion, particularly in chloride-containing and marine environments. The 316L type has less carbon content, which makes it more resistant to carbide precipitation and more weldable. Its major mechanical characteristics are tensile strength of 485 MPa, yield strength of 170 MPa, and elongation of 40%. All these contribute to making the tubing well-suited for use in areas requiring durability, resistance to corrosion, and performance at high temperature or pressure.

Stainless Steel 316 and 316L Welded Tubing is extensively applied where superior corrosion resistance and mechanical integrity are essential. Major applications are in heat exchangers, condensers, chemical processing hardware, and marine hardware, where pitting and crevice corrosion resistance is critical. It is also favored in food processing equipment, pharmaceutical processing, medical equipment, and water treatment plants, because of its cleanability and non-reactive surface. The low carbon level in 316L improves weldability, and thus it is appropriate for fabricated structures under high temperature and aggressive media conditions to provide long-term efficiency and reliability.
