SS 316Ti is a titanium-stabilized version of 316 stainless steel, typically alloyed with about 17% Cr, 12% Ni, 2–3% Mo, and around 0.5% Ti. Carbon content is controlled at about 0.08% to prevent carbide formation. Mechanical properties include a tensile strength of around 515 MPa, yield strength of about 205 MPa, and about 35% elongation. The addition of titanium stabilizes chromium carbide-prone areas during welding, maintaining corrosion resistance. Furthermore, 316Ti preserves structural integrity and resists oxidation in sustained high-heat environments, showing high toughness, formability, and weldability, essential for ERW pipe applications under thermal cycling and corrosive service.
